Are you interested in joining a dynamic and international team of professionals to transform education? IE's IT Department is looking for a Cybersecurity Tech to join its team!

 

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Tech with a technical and operational background  to provide cybersecurity coverage outside European business hours. The ideal candidate will be act as the main cybersecurity technical reference during non-EU hours, working closely with the European team, internal IT teams, and an external SOC provider. This is not a SOC analyst or monitoring role. It is a hands-on security engineering position, focused on incident ownership, operational decision-making, vulnerability management, and internal security testing.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Bogotá (Colombia).

Responsibilities

Your role as Cybersecurity Tech will involve:

  • Act as the cybersecurity point of contact outside European business hours.
  • Coordinate with the external SOC provider: validate alerts, make decisions, and close incidents
  • Perform urgent security changes when required (firewalls, EDR/XDR, cloud security).
  • Manage the vulnerability management lifecycle: scanning, validation, prioritization, and remediation follow-up.
  • Execute security hardening actions and technical improvements outside EU business hours.
  • Collaborate with IT, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams across LATAM and the US.
  • Provide clear asynchronous reporting and handover to the European cybersecurity team.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing or supporting cybersecurity platforms (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux)
  • Hands-on experience with Nessus or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in incident handling and technical documentation.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a “hands-on” approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tools such as XDR, FW.
  • Experience working with external SOC providers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
