Are you interested in joining a dynamic and international team of professionals to transform education? IE University's Global Markets Department is looking for a Regional Director (LATAM) to join its team!
 

IE University is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join the Global Markets team in Madrid (other locations would be evaluated case by case). The Regional Director for Latin America (LATAM) will oversee the region’s offices and teams, driving market development, stakeholder engagement, and the achievement of strategic goals across Latin America. This position requires a proven leader with strong commercial acumen, cultural intelligence, and the ability to align regional execution with the institution’s global strategy.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid - IE Tower.
 

Responsibilities

Your role as Regional Director (LATAM) will involve:

 

Strategic Leadership & Regional Oversight

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multicultural team of Managers and local Office Directors across LATAM, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
  • Define and execute the regional strategy to strengthen institutional visibility, brand positioning, and student recruitment across diverse Latin American markets.
  • Oversee the operations of multiple regional offices, ensuring operational excellence, consistency, and alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Drive organizational alignment by promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and cross-country collaboration.

Business Development & Market Growth

  • Lead student recruitment and business development initiatives to expand the institution’s presence and impact across Latin America.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across established and emerging markets, adapting strategies to local market dynamics and competitive environments.
  • Leverage market intelligence, data analytics, and performance indicators to support strategic decision-making, pipeline management, and market expansion.
  • Explore new partnerships and initiatives to strengthen long-term regional growth.

Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between the LATAM region and headquarters, ensuring strong communication and strategic alignment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high schools, universities, government institutions, corporate partners, educational organizations, and alumni networks to strengthen the institution’s presence in the region.
  • Collaborate closely with academic, admissions, marketing, alumni, careers, and corporate relations teams to deliver integrated regional initiatives.

Operational & Financial Accountability

  • Define and manage regional budgets, revenue targets, and performance indicators, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Monitor regional performance and implement action plans to achieve enrollment, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Champion the effective use of institutional systems, CRM tools, and technology to improve forecasting, candidate engagement, and reporting.

External Representation

  • Represent the institution as the senior regional ambassador across Latin America at conferences, industry events, government meetings, and educational forums.
  • Strengthen the institution’s reputation and visibility by promoting its mission, values, and academic excellence throughout the region.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Master's degree or MBA from a leading institution.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in international business development, higher education, marketing, or commercial management, including responsibility for multi-country or regional teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading operations across Latin America, with a strong understanding of the region's educational landscape and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to build strategic relationships with governments, educational institutions, corporate partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial mindset with experience managing budgets, revenue targets, and business performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese would be a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, resilience, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Latin America.
  • Legal authorization to work in Spain
