The Accounting Junior Associate supports the Accounting Manager in executing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data, and contributing to the department's process improvement and automation initiatives.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid - IE Tower.
 

Responsibilities

Your role as a Accounting Junior Associatewill involve:

 

  • Assist in the daily operations of general accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. 
  • Perform bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes across the organization. 
  • Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Ensure compliance with local (Spanish GAAP/PGC) and international accounting regulations. 
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies. 
  • Contribute to process improvements and the automation of administrative and accounting tasks. 
  • Address internal queries and provide accounting-related support to other departments. 
  • Participate in internal projects and cross-functional initiatives as required. 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline. 
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance position. 
  • Knowledge of accounting principles under Spanish GAAP (PGC); exposure to US GAAP or IFRS is a plus. 
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus). 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI is valued. 
  • Prior experience in an audit or accounting role at a Big Four firm is a plus. 
  • Experience and willingness to learn and apply AI-driven tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) in administrative and accounting processes. 
  • Strong written and spoken English; Spanish proficiency required.
