The Senior Associate Director supports the strategic and operational management of master’s programs and special academic initiatives within the IE School of Architecture and Design. The role supports the Vice Dean in the execution of School priorities, ensuring academic excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with institutional goals.
Working across academic programs, new initiatives, and School-wide projects, the position serves as a key point of coordination between faculty, academic leadership, internal teams, and external partners. The role combines program oversight with the management of transversal initiatives related to new program development, partnerships, quality assurance, operational planning, and continuous improvement.

1. Program Management & Academic Operations
· Oversee the end-to-end delivery of master’s programs (e.g., MBArch, MRED, GMRED, MINT, MDXR), ensuring quality and consistency.
· Coordinate with Academic Directors and Faculty to guarantee alignment between academic content and institutional standards.
· Monitor program performance through surveys, feedback, and KPIs, proposing improvements where needed.
· Ensure smooth execution of academic calendars, assessments, bootcamps, immersions, and overall student experience.
· Coordinate academic resources, faculty-related deliverables, and program implementation requirements.
· Support the successful launch and development of new academic offerings and program formats.
2. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
· Lead quality control processes, including student satisfaction reviews and faculty performance evaluations.
· Analyze feedback data and implement actions to enhance program quality and student experience.
· Coordinate quality assurance initiatives with Academic Directors and relevant stakeholders.
· Drive innovation in academic delivery, methodologies, and learning experiences.
· Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for operational and academic improvement.
3. Strategic Initiatives & Vice Dean Support
· Support the Vice Dean in the execution of strategic priorities and special projects across the School.
· Lead and coordinate transversal initiatives involving multiple programs, departments, and stakeholders.
· Support the development of new programs and academic initiatives, including business cases, pricing strategy, viability analysis, and implementation planning.
· Coordinate pilot initiatives and special projects aligned with the School’s academic and institutional objectives.
· Provide operational follow-up and coordination for School-wide initiatives requiring alignment across academic, operational, and administrative teams.
· Support the development and execution of special projects of a multidisciplinary nature aligned with the School’s areas of interest, in coordination with Corporate Relations, and Life Long Learning ensuring integration with academic programs and strategic priorities.
4. Partnerships & External Relations in support of academic programs
· Manage relationships with corporate partners and institutional stakeholders.
· Coordinate partnership-related activities, ensuring successful implementation of joint initiatives and sponsored participation.
· Support the development of customized programs, proposals, and collaborative projects.
· Collaborate with external partners on academic activities, workshops, events, sponsorships, and student opportunities.
· Maintain regular communication with partners to ensure alignment and follow-up on ongoing initiatives.
5. Financial & Administrative Oversight
· Monitor program budgets and support financial sustainability across programs and initiatives.
· Contribute to annual operational planning and budget preparation processes.
· Oversee invoicing, contracts, payment processes, and administrative follow-up in coordination with internal departments.
· Track operational expenditures and support budget control activities.
· Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and administrative requirements.
6. Team Coordination & Stakeholder Management
· Act as a key liaison between academic, operations, admissions, marketing, finance, and external teams.
· Coordinate stakeholders across multiple projects, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
· Facilitate communication and collaboration between faculty, Academic Directors, and administrative teams.
· Support team coordination and contribute to effective execution of School initiatives.
· Ensure consistency across program operations, communications, and implementation processes.
