Responsibilities

Your role as an Associate Directo will involve:
 

Department Information:

Global Alumni Relations provides engagement services, resources and benefits to our alumni network that consists of nearly 90,000 alumni worldwide and liaises across the IE stakeholder map to ensure the community stays connected to each other and IE throughout their lifetime.

 

Overview of Role:

The Associate Director manages two key areas of engagement: student engagement, to prepare graduating students for their transition to alumni, and alumni engagement for young professionals. She/He will be responsible for implementing the engagement strategy for both segments, evolving it over time to ensure its alignment with the institution’s strategic priorities and effectiveness in meeting the community’s needs.

 

 

Responsibilities:

    • Manage the alumni department’s engagement strategies for current students and alumni young professionals, communicating a clear plan to the Student & Young Professionals team and delegating related responsibilities
    • Oversee the planning of student and alumni events from start-to-finish, relying on tried-and-true career-driven event concepts and introducing new event ideas designed to generate relevant connections within the IE community and support individuals in their career growth
    • Design and implement communications journeys for both segments, reviewing current touchpoints and evolving the strategy so that key messages are delivered to each segment effectively
    • Serve as department lead on mentorship, liaising with mentorship program owners across the institution to facilitate best practice-sharing and accurate tracking of alumni participation in mentorship programs; partner with Talent & Careers to identify alumni volunteers for mentorship for strategic programs
    • Encourage and promote members’ participation in IE’s giving culture, creating volunteer opportunities for alumni young professionals, tracking their engagement, and recognizing them for their contributions
    • Maintain regular communication with teams from Talent & Careers, the Career Advancement Center (CAC), Young Alumni, Campus Life & Student Experience, and IE Schools, updating them on our work for students and young professionals and identifying additional opportunities to improve the student-to-alumni journey
    • Lead and mentor Student & Young Professionals team, creating a fun and collaborative work environment built on trust and mutual support

 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Requirements:

    • Strategic thinker capable of developing actionable plans and effectively communicating them to other team members and departments
    • Proven experience in engagement, specifically in event management and communications
    • Entrepreneurial mindset highly valued
    • Strong networking, communications, and project management skills
    • Collaborative attitude and ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
    • Command of English and Spanish, oral and written
    • Proficient Microsoft user + Dynamics 365 CRM
