Overview

Are you interested in joining a dynamic and international team of professionals to transform education? IE University's School of Architecture and Design is looking for an Program Manager to join its team! This is a middle management role in the Business & Design Program to join its undergraduate team.
 

We are looking for a proactive, people-centered, and strategically minded Program Manager to support the Academic Director and Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs in advancing the Business & Design degree. 

 

This role plays a key part in strengthening academic coordination, program representation, student and faculty wellbeing, and the strategic development of transversal initiatives aligned with the School’s vision. The Program Manager will champion design as a tool for positive change and act as an ambassador for the program with internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid - IE Tower or Segovia.
 

Responsibilities

Your role as Program Manager will involve:

 

Strategic and Academic Support 

  • Provide day-to-day strategic and operational support to the Academic Director and Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs in the development and consolidation of the Business & Design degree. 
  • Contribute to the evolution of the program’s positioning, ensuring coherence between academic rigor, creative ambition, and real-world impact. 
  • Support transversal strategic initiatives across undergraduate programs, fostering alignment, collaboration, and innovation within the School. 

Program Representation and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Act as a key representative and ambassador of the Business & Design program in interactions with internal stakeholders (faculty, admissions, marketing, student services, career services) and external partners (companies, institutions, collaborators). 
  • Promote the program’s identity and vision — highlighting design as a driver of organizational transformation and societal change. 
  • Support partnerships, events, talks, juries, and industry collaborations that reinforce the program’s visibility and relevance. 

Student and Faculty Experience & Wellbeing 

  • Foster a culture of care, respect, and well-being for both students and faculty, contributing to a healthy and high-performing academic environment. 
  • Act as a point of coordination and support in complex or sensitive student and faculty situations, exercising sound judgment and discretion. 
  • Encourage a learning culture rooted in constructive feedback, collaboration, and professional growth. 

Academic Coordination and Operations 

  • Ensure smooth coordination of academic processes, including scheduling, faculty follow-up, project milestones, and cross-course alignment. 
  • Support quality assurance, documentation, and institutional processes related to undergraduate programs. 
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, balancing strategic development with operational excellence. 

Collaboration and Cross-Program Initiatives 

  • Work closely with academic directors, faculty, operations, marketing, admissions, and career services to ensure alignment and excellence in execution. 
  • Contribute to School-wide strategic projects that strengthen the undergraduate portfolio and student journey. 
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and enhanced impact across programs. 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Master’s degree is highly desirable. 
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience, preferably in higher education or a comparable institutional environment. 
  • Demonstrated passion for design as a tool for change and its intersection with business, innovation, and entrepreneurship. 
  • Strong project management and coordination skills. 
  • Proven ability to support senior leadership with structure, discretion, and strategic thinking. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholders. 
  • Student-centric and faculty-supportive mindset, with a genuine commitment to wellbeing and academic excellence. 
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (full professional fluency). 
  • Close attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information. 
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude. 
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
