We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid - Velázquez.
 

Responsibilities

Your role as a Senior Associate Director - Career Discovery Advisor will involve:
  • Support students in designing their career target, in accordance with their professional strengths and aspirations, balancing expectations with market appetite in their target region and industry. 
  • Support students in individual advising sessions and group sessions in the classroom.  
  • Guide students in the Career Advising methodology: creating career target materials (list of target companies and contacts) and gathering real-time market information through networking with professionals and leveraging the IE ecosystem and alumni. 
  • Support students in creating an actionable and measurable job search strategy, agreeing on timelines, milestones, and progress tracking. 
  • Advise and support students in building their personal brand across application packages (CV, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and professional interactions). 
  • Coach students for interviews, providing guidance on company and role research and conducting mock interviews at different stages of their journey. 
  • Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of the Career Advising methodology and student journey, including creation of materials, self-assessment exercises, and market benchmarking. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of Pathways, academic concentrations, and sub-pathways, in coordination with Pathways Directors, to align academic choices with student career targets. 
  • Act as a key bridge between Talent & Careers, Employer Partnerships, and academic programs to ensure that skills development is embedded across programs and career activities, supporting students in building the skills demanded by the market. 
  • Strengthen career connections between the Employer Partnerships team and students by designing and delivering career-focused events, including employer-led sessions, roundtable discussions, and job opportunity market insights. 
  • Through own efforts and collaboration with the Employer Partnerships team, maintain up-to-date knowledge of recruitment practices, industry trends, networking events, interview requirements, and employer-specific insights. 
  • Coordinate with Academic Programs and key stakeholders across the Business School ecosystem, including faculty, alumni, and student clubs, to remain credible and impactful in advising activities. 
  • The position reports to the Head / Program Head, with coordination lines to the Advising / Education Director. 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
    • Master’s degree. 
    • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a coach, career advisor, headhunter, or recruiter; experience in teaching, facilitation, or learning and development is a plus. 
    • Strong coaching skills, ideally supported by formal training. 
    • Solid knowledge of the job market, future of work trends, and the international employment landscape. 
    • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. 
    • Ability to identify and connect transferable skills with market opportunities. 
    • Familiarity with career assessment tools is highly valued. 
    • Hands-on experience with recruitment processes and candidate management. 
    • Strong capability in preparing application materials: CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and interview preparation. 
    • Affinity with or experience in the higher education sector is a plus. 
    • Native or bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. 
    • High levels of empathy, creativity, and student-centered mindset. 
    • Strong team player with a positive, customer-oriented attitude. 
    • Ability to multitask and work with urgency under tight deadlines. 
    • Ability to quickly adapt and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Additional languages are a plus. 
    • Occasional business travel in Spain and/or overseas may be required.
