Overview

IE University Lifelong Learning (IELL - https://www.ie.edu/lifelong-learning/) seeks a visionary, forward-looking Director of Marketing to lead the growth, innovation, and global positioning of our lifelong learning and executive education portfolio. This role calls for a marketing leader who combines strategic foresight, creativity, and analytical rigor, with a commercial drive to deliver measurable growth and business impact.

 

The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager of IE Lifelong Learning, the Director of Marketing will own the end-to-end marketing strategy and execution across a diverse portfolio of programs, with a particular focus on Open Enrollment Programs and close collaboration with the Corporate Relations, Corporate Marketing, Admissions, Academic, and Program Management teams within IELL and IE University.


You will lead a cross-functional team of 10+ marketers and manage a multimillion-euro marketing budget, driving brand growth, lead generation, and conversion through a data-driven, digital-first approach.

Responsibilities

Your role as a Director of Marketing will involve:

 

Strategic Leadership & Market Intelligence 

  • Define and implement the global marketing strategy for IE Lifelong Learning (including executive education programs, online programs, bootcamps, and diplomas), aligned with institutional priorities and revenue goals.  
  • Drive business growth and new product development across all business lines by understanding specific needs, priorities, and audience profiles, thereby ensuring tailored go-to-market strategies that maximize reach and conversion. 
  • Lead market research, competitive analysis, and trend monitoring to anticipate shifts in learner interests, emerging markets, and the competitive landscape so that we can develop new products and programs with input from the market.  
  • Translate data and insights into actionable strategies that strengthen IELL’s position as a global leader in executive education and lifelong learning. 
  • Operate with the mindset of ‘luxury at scale’: managing ambitious budgets, global launch plans, and premium customer journeys while driving growth and conversion.  

 

Digital Marketing, Performance & Engagement 

  • Define and lead a high-impact digital marketing strategy that maximizes reach, engagement, and conversion across channels (search, social, CRM, automation, content, and paid media) for both premium individual consumers and institutional/corporate partners. 
  • Champion AI-driven personalization, automation, and predictive analytics to enhance targeting and campaign performance. 
  • Establish performance frameworks and dashboards to measure and enhance ROI, contribution, and customer acquisition costs. 
  • Lead global campaigns that blend refined aesthetics, culture-driven storytelling, and high-performance metrics.  
  • Define and execute the content marketing strategy to engage with the target audiences 

 

Innovation & Future of Marketing 

  • Foster a culture of innovation, forward-looking, and experimentation, exploring emerging technologies, creative formats, and navigating from SEO to SEO + GEO strategies,  
  • Identify and test cutting-edge trends, making sure we implement innovative strategies that listen to the very new trends and use new technologies such as generative AI, personalization, and new systems. 
  • Challenge the status quo across the team to foster the definition and adoption of new and more effective marketing approaches, driving awareness, generating leads, and nurturing and converting them into measurable business results.  
  • Collaborate across IE’s ecosystem to integrate marketing innovation and future-ready practices institution-wide. 

 

Team Leadership 

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary marketing team, structured by product line and supported by transversal experts in marketing channels, analytics, and innovation. 
  • Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability for results. 
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and professional development across the team. 

 

Open Enrollment & Corporate Synergies 

  • Drive marketing excellence for Open Enrollment Programs, ensuring differentiated positioning, targeted messaging and nurturing, and optimized customer journeys to reach targets.  
  • Collaborate closely and foster synergies with Corporate, Admissions, Academics, and Program teams at IELL and at the IE University level, to align marketing strategies, co-create campaigns, and unlock synergies across the portfolio. 
  • Partner with Corporate and Admissions teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing efforts across B2C and B2B segments. 
  • Constant exchange, collaboration, and alignment with transversal departments at IE University and particularly with the IE Corporate Marketing team, Global Markets, Admissions, Communications, and Corporate Relations.  

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles, ideally in higher education, digital services, or luxury and premium consumer brands. 
  • Proven success in digital marketing, go-to-market strategy, and commercial growth delivery. 
  • Deep expertise in marketing analytics, performance optimization, customer insights, and competitive intelligence. 
  • Strong grasp and interest in AI tools and efficiency/productivity, CRM platforms, automation, and omnichannel campaign management. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing large budgets and global, cross-functional teams. 
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented approach. 
  • Global mindset, excellent communication, and storytelling ability. 
  • Master’s degree from a top academic institution (MBA, Master's In Marketing, in Strategic Marketing, in Digital Marketing, Market Research or equivalent preferred). 
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
