Overview

Are you interested in joining a dynamic and international team of professionals to transform education? IE University's Student Experience is looking for a Communications Manager, Student Experience (Temporary) to join its team!

Reporting to the Vice Provost for Education & Student Experience, this role leads the design and execution of communication strategies across multiple channels to strengthen student belonging and showcase the vibrant life on IE’s campuses. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on creativity, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can balance daily operations with long-term communication projects. 

This position is key to maintaining visibility for student initiatives, events, and services across all three IE campuses, ensuring alignment with IE’s brand standards and institutional goals.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid, IE Tower.
 

Responsibilities

Your role as a Manager will involve:
 
Strategic Communication & Planning 
  • Lead, create, and implement communication strategies for Campus LifeSports & Well-Being, and Creativity Center activities. 
  • Partner with the Director of Education & Student Experience to ensure alignment between communication efforts, department goals, and IE’s brand identity. 
  • Oversee the OPEX Student Experience budget related to communication projects, ensuring efficiency and value-added impact. 
  • Manage communication plans for institutional initiatives, such as the Student Hub and Feedback Collection Strategy, including timeline, content, and rollout. 

Content Creation & Channel Management 

  • Develop engaging content for social media (Instagram, LinkedIn)newsletterscampus screensIE Connects, and Student Hub. 
  • Oversee the Campus Life Weekly Newsletter, ensuring cross-departmental updates and visibility on Viva Engage. 
  • Maintain and update the Campus Life websiteIE Connects homepage, and Campus Comms Guide. 
  • Collaborate with IE’s Marketing & Communications teams to amplify initiatives across central channels and ensure consistent messaging. 

Event Communications 

  • Lead communication campaigns for major community-wide events such as IE DayCommunity AwardsWelcome HomeGlobal Village, and more. 
  • Coordinate timelines, creative assets, and stakeholder promotion across departments. 
  • Supervise event content creation: photography, video coverage, post-production, and social media distribution. 
  • Ensure correct visibility for collaborators, sponsors, and internal teams across all promotional materials. 

Team & Intern Coordination 

  • Supervise and mentor communications interns in Madrid and Segovia for both Campus Life and Sports & Well-Being Departments. 
  • Conduct weekly meetings to plan content calendars, review performance, and coordinate event coverage. 
  • Encourage creativity, ensure brand consistency, and maintain strong communication workflows within the team. 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including DIRCOM, IT, Marketing, IE Foundation, and Schools for integrated communication efforts. 
  • Maintain close collaboration with event coordinatorssponsors, and external agencies. 
  • Support the Creative and Campus Life teams in developing promotional materials and storytelling content. 

Quality Assurance & Brand Management 

  • Guarantee visual and editorial consistency across all platforms and materials. 
  • Review, edit, and approve content before publication to maintain tone, accuracy, and alignment with IE’s communication standards. 
  • Manage updates to institutional presentations and visual assets for department-wide use. 

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

 

  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or event promotion, ideally in higher education, non-profit, or international environments. 
  • master's degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Proven ability to lead multi-stakeholder communication projects and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken). 
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills. 
  • Proficiency in Figma, Canva, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Admira (screens), and IE Connects. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • A collaborative mindset, creativity, and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
