The work carried out by the candidate will typically involve helping the Sustainability team perform third party sustainability assessments, identify climate-related risks and opportunities, propose risk mitigation measures and help explore climate-related opportunities.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Madrid.

Responsibilities

Your role as an Associate Director will involve:

  • Collect information and data from diverse sources for the understanding of the processes/projects to be managed.
  • Performing various research tasks, e.g., market research to understand best practice, locating data and information to help build strong reports and proposals.
  • Producing presentations to communicate analysis and proposals effectively.
  • Supporting on the development of proposal, pitches & new opportunities, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Delivering work based on project needs, this will involve strong project management and strong collaboration with other members of the community to deliver results. Projects will be varied, some internal to keep our sustainability standards high, other external to our partners.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Bilingual/native level of English is required. Advanced level of Spanish is a plus.
  • Background – economist, environmental scientist, engineer, architect… with proved knowledge in sustainability – climate / environment
  • +3 years of significant technical experience in climate change, working in multidisciplinary environments and in the elaboration and preparation of proposals on issues such as circular economy, climate change, sustainable cities, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, etc.
  • 5-10 years of overall experience in Sustainability, Climate Change Consulting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Consulting and project management
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent empathy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with diverse constituency, including senior executives.
  • Multi-tasking and the ability to work with a sense of urgency under tight deadlines.
  • Initiative: the candidate must be a professional with self-confidence, a spirit of service, a proactive attitude, action oriented, dynamic, hardworking, innovative, and receptive to improvements and constant learning.
  • Confident team player, able to develop new ideas and challenge conventional thinking.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Great attention to detail, and confidence working with large datasets and excel models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent research capabilities, and capable of taking the initiative.
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills required.
