Overview

We are looking for a Data Manager to take part in the creation of a Digital Scientific Repository of Documents, Objects and Data generated by research.

Responsibilities

Key Action Areas:

  • Participate in the establishment, preparation and application of international standards for the management and dissemination of knowledge.
  • Integrate all the data collected and processed in the investigations, as well as those existing in the Research Databases, and implement a Policy/Management Plan of the Research Data Management System.
  • Development, implementation and integration through API/s such as free APIs of research metrics for repositories, among others.
  • Carry out the improvement of capacity and efficiency in data processing (Big Data) directly affecting the ability of the researcher to produce more publications.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master´s degree from a top-ranked university is desired.
  • Strong command of Dspace or other repository management software. Knowledge of SQL, among others, and/or project management software is valued.
  • Background in Python or other desired text manipulation tools is appreciated.
  • Familiarity with the basic concepts of AI/ML, the analysis and interpretation of patterns and data structures. You must be able to communicate and interact with them at a conceptual level as a minimum.
  • Knowledge in the development of a science ecosystem based on Open Access and Open Data.
  • Mastery of scientific and innovation policy analysis.
  • Broad level knowledge of international standards for knowledge management and dissemination.
  • Background experience with ontology management systems, taxonomies, metadata.
  • Experience in the construction of complex searches, modification of results and presentation of results.
  • Familiarity with computational approaches and research software used in existing related sciences at IE such as SPSS, SAS, Stata and/or Excel.
  • Experience in development/implementation of data management services is valued.
  • KPI development and data analysis related to scientific production.
  • Use of web application programming interfaces (APIs) to collect data and assist in reporting activities.
  • High level of spoken and written English.
