Over the past two years, IE Foundation has grown in participation, engagement, excellence and creativity, and we have done so thanks to the support of our community and donors who have placed their trust in our work.

Our priority is to continue to grow by promoting the involvement of the Foundation's different stakeholders in its activities in order to generate greater awareness of what the Foundation does and strengthen its relationship with the IE University Community. In this aspect, Communication becomes an essential element and for this reason, we are looking for an Associate Director that will lead IE Foundation’s marketing and communications department with the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders and develop projects that enrich the global community.

The person who joins our team will become part of IE University's commitment to generating positive local and international impact through the IE Foundation.


Key Action Areas:

Management duties:

  • Manage multiple communications projects. These can be from projects that need more than 12 weeks of planning and include the coordination of several company departments, suppliers… to crash projects that need to be done in few hours with the resources that exist in that moment.
  • Oversee and supervise the work of one full-time intern.
  • Supervising budget and expenses.
  • Other administrative tasks (contracts, payments, enquiries, etc.)

Marketing support and Internal Communications:

  • Create high quality presentations and materials for the Executive Direction of IE Foundation and IE University, as well as other graphic materials for IE Foundation departments (Centers[1] Observatories or Chairs) assuring the message and values are well expressed and communicated to external partners or individuals.
  • Defining new webs from scratch for upcoming initiatives, as well as editing and planning content for existing webs.
  • Supervise other materials such as academic reports, internal emails, Executive direction releases.
  • Provide IE Foundation employees with tools to ensure horizontal communication flows are correct and information is not lacking.

Marketing and external communications:

  • Support and coordinate several events within IE Foundation including emailing, registration platforms, logistics, catering, etc.
  • Plan social media content and write copy for press releases, social media posts, video scripts, etc.
  • Assist in hosting open and private events. Comfortably converse with business leaders and distinguished guests.


[1] The Associate Director will work closely with the IE Center for Transport Economics and Infrastructure Management.



  • MBA, Master in Corporate Communications or equivalent advanced Master’s Degree, from a top leading University.
  • Bilingual, or advanced proficiency, in English and Spanish (written and oral), with substantial professional experience in both languages.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience. The candidate will demonstrate solid communication skills.
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to work under pressure.
  • Be familiar with graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Powerpoint, and Canva
  • Experience editing HTML and WordPress.
  • Candidates must possess a valid EU work permit.
