The Career Discovery Advisor at IE Talent & Careers supports students in deciding their career objective, in choosing their Academic Pathways and in getting the most suitable job to transform themselves.


This role is fundamental to implement the Next Best You initiative of IE Business School.


IE University is a top-ranked academic institution with five different schools: Business, Law, Science & Technology, Global & Public Affairs, and Architecture & Design. Academic degree programs include different Bachelors, specialized Masters, MBAs in a fulltime, blended, online or part-time format.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Support students in designing their career target, especially in choosing their desired Function/Pathway.
  • Contribute to defining Pathway Discovery methodology: creation of curated materials, self-assessment exercises, market benchmarks.
  • Develop deep understanding of Pathways and Sub-pathways (to be acquired in collaboration/coordination with Pathway Directors).
  • Coordination with Academic Programs and Global Recruiting teams to ensure a successful implementation of the Next Best You strategy within a Pathway eco-system.
  • Advise/support students to prepare application packages (CV, cover letter, LinkedIn, interviews…) and support them during the different phases throughout their recruitment processes.
  • Prepare, create and implement Pathway content in coordination with Pathway Directors and working with other key stakeholders.
  • Through own efforts and collaboration with the Recruiter Relations team, maintain knowledge of recruitment practices, industry trends, faculty research, alumni base, student clubs, and student needs, so as to remain highly current for all advising purposes.
  • The position will report to the Director of Advising & Education, with separate coordination lines to the Head/Program Head.



  • Highly valued to have Master´s Degree from a top University.
  • Required experience as a coach, career advisor, head-hunter or recruiter.
  • Candidates must possess strong coaching skills, ideally with specific training.
  • Job Market Knowledge: jobs more demanded, future of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-culture communication skills.
  • Ability to match transferrable skills with opportunities ("connecting the dots").
  • Highly valued to have knowledge of different assessments that can help students clarify their career goals (e.g., CareerLeader, Strengthfinder).
  • Experience in dealing with candidates and recruitment processes.
  • Being able to prepare applications: CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, interviews.
  • Ideally, familiarity/affinity with higher education sector.
  • Bilingual/native level of English is required in written and oral communication. Some level of Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent empathy and creativity to suggest different ideas to students.
  • Team player within a highly collaborative environment.
  • Positive customer-oriented attitude.
  • Multi-tasking and the ability to work with a sense of urgency under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to hit the ground running.
  • Additional languages would be a plus.
  • Occasional business trips in Spain and/or overseas may be required.
