Overview

We are looking for a Director for the New York Center, a leading international office, based in New York City to represent and contribute to the overall promotion of IE and its respective schools in their region. This management role resembles a business development position with marketing and sales responsibilities. You will operate in cross-functional environment, and collaboratively manage or work closely with a matrix of units including Marketing, Corporate Relations, Communications as well as Enrollment and Admissions Services.

 

As a contributing member of the Global Markets team, you will develop and implement a strategic plan for the Northeast region in the United States to promote the IE brand among companies, students, professionals, government institutions, education organizations, media, and other partners and target groups. The office will be IE’s local arm and hence is expected to provide support for IE related activities.

 

The Director must be an advocate of technology usage to manage the candidate experience and make use of the institutional tools provided to effectively manage the recruitment process, and market development actions generally.

 

This position is a part of the Global Markets Department, and the successful candidate would report to the Regional Director of North America.

Performance is measured twice annually, and compensation is reflective of individual and team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage & lead the local NYC Team (4 people)
  • Devise strategies to recruit candidates for Master and University Degrees, as well as Executive Education programs, and implement them.
  • Devise and implement strategies for building brand awareness for IE within the market.
  • Plan & execute commercial events to promote IE in the market(s) including representing IE in Educational Fairs, local or regional presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, etc.
  • Coordinate Marketing Campaigns to feed registration to IE commercial events with the Marketing team and the regional team in Madrid.
  • Coordinate the communication strategy implementation with the communications department.
  • Identify, build, and develop new corporate relationships with strategic organizations and companies within the market, in coordination with the Corporate Relations team at IE.
  • Build and maintain alumni and parent relations in coordination with the Alumni Relations Department.
  • Support the Alumni Clubs, coordinate events for the Alumni community in the region and identify new members of this growing community.
  • Facilitate faculty visits to organizations and universities to promote student recruitment.
  • Follow up with new leads and candidates at different stages of the admissions process and set up admissions interviews for applicants as well as in assisting Admissions in following with candidates in the pipeline.
  • Share best practices with the regional and global team.
  • Stay up to date about competitors’ activities in the market and update Regional Director (RD).
  • Represent IE at important events in the region, local mass media management.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of degree programs at IE.
  • Attend local training organized by IE.
  • Continuously report progress on activities to the Regional Director and the respective person in Madrid.
  • Elaborate monthly reports about the market accompanied by the list of leads in the pipeline and contacts gathered throughout the month.
  • Report to the Regional Director on the activities in the region.

Qualifications

  • US work authorization
  • MBA or a Masters’ degree from Top University
  • At least 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, business development, and/or sales.
  • English, and Spanish (or other European languages) are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and commercial drive.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork capability and a positive customer-oriented style.
  • Proven analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strategic, innovative, creative, and embrace new approaches and technology.
  • Able to move quickly, identify next steps, propose solution, and stay organized.
  • The position requires frequent travel within the Northeast.
